Kursk, RussiaFri Oct 25 2024
This: North Korean troops, trained in Russia's far east, are now in the western region of Kursk, right next to Ukraine. Ukraine's military Intelligence shared this news on Thursday. They saw these soldiers on Wednesday. There are about 12, 000 North Korean soldiers in Russia, getting trained in five different military camps. Russia's President, Vladimir Putin, was asked about this at a BRICS summit. He didn't deny it. In fact, he said Russia and North Korea are in contact. They include officers and generals. Ukraine has been warning about this. They think Russia is preparing to send these soldiers into Ukraine. This has made Ukraine's allies worried. They think the war is now a global issue, not just a European one. Russia and North Korea have been getting closer since the war started. They signed a defense deal in June. Both countries deny sending arms to each other, but there's evidence that North Korea has been helping Russia with weapons.
