Understanding NATO's Cognitive Warfare: A Political Science Perspective
Brussels, BelgiumSat Dec 14 2024
NATO's Allied Command Transformation (ACT) has come up with an intriguing idea called "cognitive warfare. " This concept is about influencing and shaping perceptions, beliefs, and behaviors in the context of war. It's a hot topic among scholars, but it's tough to pin down a single, clear definition because it touches on so many different fields. This study looks at NATO's concept from a political science point of view, aiming to find out how useful it can be outside of military settings. By breaking down NATO's framework, which was created with input from both military experts and civilian researchers, this paper wants to show how political science can benefit from this idea. The goal is to bring together military and civilian research and make NATO's approach better, hopefully leading to more integrated scholarly work.
