Understanding Sexual Assault Cases Among Children in Kavrepalanchok

In Nepal, a study looked at cases of sexual assault involving children in the Kavrepalanchok district. The study focused on children under 18 who were brought to the Dhulikhel Hospital's emergency department through the One-stop Crisis Management Center (OCMC). The data covered cases from 2076/09/01 B. S. to 2080/12/30 B. S. The study found that most victims were girls, but boys were also affected, though in smaller numbers. Sexual assault can have long-lasting effects on a child's growth and development. It can lead to mental health issues, substance abuse, and even anti-social behavior as they grow up. Understanding these cases is crucial for providing better support and prevention. The study included 127 cases, giving a clear picture of the situation in the district. It's important to note that these cases were brought to the hospital by authorities, showing the role of the OCMC in managing such crises. The data helps in identifying patterns and areas where more support is needed. Talking about sexual assault is not easy, but it's necessary to protect children and help them heal.
