United Russia Favored to Lead as US Nomination Views Split

The political picture is not neat. In Russia, the current lean is pretty clear: United Russia is favored to gain the lead in parliamentary seats in the next election. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation and A Just Russia – For Truth are both seen as unlikely to take that lead. That creates a strong front-runner impression, but it is still a view, not a settled result.

Across the Republican presidential nomination question, the mood is more mixed. People currently seem to think Donald Trump and Marco Rubio are unlikely to win. J.D. Vance is the exception, with views split and a slight tilt toward yes. The Democratic questions point more firmly toward doubt. Gavin Newsom, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Pete Buttigieg are all viewed as unlikely to secure the nomination.

Foreign policy and law do not tell a simple story. The US-Iran ceasefire is generally expected to continue for the period being considered, though the leaning is not perfectly uniform. The Clarity Act becoming law is viewed as highly unlikely. That contrast raises a useful question: why does continuity look more plausible in that case, while change looks doubtful in the other?

Venezuela adds another uncertain thread. Current views lean strongly against Edmundo González becoming the country's leader by the stated endpoint. María Corina Machado faces the same doubtful direction. What would need to change for that view to shift remains unclear.
