You might remember the name Laci Peterson. Back in 2002, her disappearance shook the nation. When her body and that of her unborn son, Conner, were found, the focus turned to her husband, Scott Peterson. Twenty years later, a Netflix documentary called American Murder: Laci Peterson is shedding new light on the case. It uses old footage and talks to cops and family members. Even Scott's mistress, Amber Frey, makes an appearance. Her testimony played a big role in his conviction, even though the case was based on circumstantial evidence. Why is this case in the news again? The Los Angeles Innocence Project (LAIP) has taken up Scott's case. They're trying to find new evidence and do DNA tests to prove his innocence.
