Unraveling the Secrets: New Amelia Earhart Files Uncovered
KiribatiSat Nov 15 2025
The U. S. National Archives has just dropped a bunch of documents about Amelia Earhart, the famous pilot who vanished in 1937. This happened after President Trump said all government files on her should be made public.
Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan, took off from Papua New Guinea on July 2, 1937, heading for Howland Island. They were trying to fly around the world. But they disappeared after Earhart said they were running low on fuel. A huge search by the U. S. Navy didn't find them. So, what happened to them? That's still a big mystery.
The new documents include logs from military ships that searched for Earhart, plus memos, newspaper clippings, and even some weird letters. One letter claimed Earhart was alive, found through mental telepathy. Another said she was buried in Spain. But most of the government messages said these rumors weren't true.
Some researchers think Earhart and Noonan ended up on a tiny island called Nikumaroro. They found stuff like a jar of old freckle cream, bits of clothing, and even some bones. They also found a piece of metal that might be from Earhart's plane. But is this enough proof? It's still not clear.
The National Archives said more documents will be posted online soon. Meanwhile, people are still wondering: What really happened to Amelia Earhart?
