Vice President Kamala Harris Joins SNL Cast
New York, USASun Nov 03 2024
Vice President Kamala Harris is set to make a surprise appearance on "Saturday Night Live" this weekend. This episode is the last before the upcoming election. Comedian John Mulaney will host, and singer Chappell Roan will perform. Harris' visit to the show means she'll be away from the key states she's been campaigning in. Just last Saturday, she held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Harris has been impressed with Maya Rudolph's portrayal of her on the show. "Maya Rudolph — she’s fantastic, " Harris said on "The View" last month. "She’s got the mannerisms down, the whole look, the suit, the jewelry! "
Jason Miller, a senior adviser to the Trump campaign, thinks this is a risky move. "They've been poking fun at her all season, " he said. "Going on the show now is nuts! "
Politicians have been appearing on "SNL" for years. Donald Trump hosted in 2015, causing protests. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama also made appearances when they were running for office.
It's worth noting that "SNL" and NBC News are both part of the same company, NBCUniversal.
