Australia is going through a tough time right now. The country is facing some really bad weather. Bushfires are burning out of control, especially in the state of Victoria. These fires have destroyed homes and a lot of bushland.

A disaster declaration was made in 18 areas of Victoria. The Australian Defence Force has been asked to help. They will provide accommodation for the firefighters.
One of the biggest fires is near the town of Longwood. This fire has burned 35, 000 hectares of bushland. It has destroyed homes, a community centre, and a telephone exchange.
Many communities near the fires have been evacuated. Parks and campgrounds in the state are also closed.
