Mike Vrabel is back in Tennessee, but the Patriots are keeping their eyes on the prize. The team's coaches say Vrabel hasn't let the emotional return distract him or his players. Instead, they're all about the grind, just like any other week.
Vrabel's assistants say he's been his usual intense self. Special teams coach Jeremy Springer puts it simply: "It's fourth and 1 every day. " That means everyone better be ready, details sharp, and fundamentals tight. No room for mistakes, no time for distractions.
Inside linebacker coach Zak Kuhr agrees. He says Vrabel's energy is the same as always. "He brings high energy to the building at all times, " Kuhr says. And that's not just talk. It's the same energy he's brought since day one.
Tight ends coach Thomas Brown appreciates Vrabel's consistency. "He is consistent, has the same message, " Brown says. He's all about leading the team in the right direction, every single day. And this week is no different.
Meanwhile, the Patriots made some roster moves. They signed tight end Thomas Odukoya and defensive lineman Leonard Taylor III to the practice squad. Odukoya played for Vrabel in Tennessee, so he knows what to expect.
On the injury front, the Patriots have a few concerns. Linebacker Harold Landry III and cornerback Charles Woods missed practice. Several other players were limited, including wide receiver Stefon Diggs and linebacker Anfernee Jennings.
The Titans have their own injury worries. Linebacker Arden Key, linebacker Dre'Mont Jones, and wide receiver Calvin Ridley all missed practice.
So, while Vrabel's return is a big story, the Patriots are treating it like any other game. They're focused, they're intense, and they're ready to go. That's the Vrabel way.
