Wake Up to Icy Roads: Northeast Braces for Monday's Commute

USAMon Dec 16 2024
Monday morning commuters in the Northeast should be ready for some slippery roads. A mix of light snow and sleet is expected to start on Sunday evening in parts of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. The National Weather Service has put out a winter weather advisory. This warning is in place until 10 a. m. for parts of northeastern Pennsylvania and until 11 a. m. for parts of New Jersey and the Lower Hudson Valley in New York. Also, some areas in Connecticut, like northern Fairfield, New Haven, and northern Middlesex Counties, are likely to be affected. In northeastern Pennsylvania, forecasters expect up to four inches of snow and sleet, which might turn into a thin layer of ice by Monday morning. Most areas in New York and New Jersey will get less than an inch of snow, starting on Sunday evening and moving eastward into southwestern Connecticut overnight.
