Walking on the Moon: A New Challenge for Astronauts

Walking on the Moon is not like floating in space. On the Moon, astronauts use their legs to move around. This puts more pressure on their knees, hips, and other leg muscles. It might be better for the body to use legs instead of arms for movement. Humans are built to walk and run long distances. So, using legs could make tasks easier. But the Moon is different from Earth. It has partial gravity. Astronauts will bend, twist, and do different things. This is a big change from moving in microgravity. The Moon is also very cold and hot. It can get as cold as minus 388° Fahrenheit. This is much colder than any place humans have been before. The suits need to keep astronauts safe from these extreme temperatures and radiation.
Making these suits is very hard. They must keep a person alive in a vacuum. The suits are like heavy backpacks. They change how a person moves. The center of gravity is higher and farther back. This makes natural movements difficult. Adding weights to the front can help, but it is not perfect. On Earth, people do not think about their center of gravity. But on the Moon, it becomes a big problem.
