Weather Flip: Soggy South, Snowy North
Southern New England, USAWed Dec 18 2024
Prepare for some weather whiplash! The sun's shine today won't last all day in Southern New England as clouds roll in from the south. Temps are poised to stay rather warm, hitting the low to mid-40s, and some spots might even tickle the 50s. This warm spell has been sticking around, with yesterday seeing temperatures climb to a balmy 60 degrees.
Up north, ski enthusiasts might finally catch a break. A minor storm is forecasted to drop 1 to 4 inches of snow late tonight and into early Thursday morning. Don't be surprised if you see some wet snowflakes right before the sun peeks out on Thursday.
Looking ahead, the weekend is set to be a chilly one. An Atlantic storm might give us a few snowflakes on Friday night, but it will mostly sweep past us. So, grab your jackets because Saturday will be cold, and Sunday even colder, with temperatures dipping down to the single digits and teens.
Winter's not giving up without a fight. Despite the warm start this week, the weekend is going to make it feel like January all over again.
