Weather patterns are shifting, and it's time to pay attention. A cold front is on its way, and it's bringing more than just a change in temperature. Humidity levels are set to rise, making the air feel heavier and muggier. This increase in moisture could lead to some storms, and while the risk of severe weather is low, it's not zero.
Right now, things are already changing. The morning started with warmer temperatures and more clouds than usual. These clouds will thin out later, but don't expect a dry day. Humidity will be on the rise, making the air feel a bit sticky. If you're heading out to a Friday night football game, you're in luck. The weather should behave, with temperatures in the upper 70s at 7pm, dropping to the mid-70s by 9pm. But don't expect a cool night. Temperatures will only dip to around 68 degrees, and there's a chance of some patchy fog or even a stray shower.
The weekend is looking warm and muggy. Saturday will see highs near 88 degrees, with increasing clouds. As the day goes on, showers and storms will become possible, but they should be isolated. So, if you're heading to a game, a poncho might be a good idea. As night falls, a cold front will approach from the north. This front will bring the best chance of rain, with a broken line of showers and storms moving through. There's a low-end risk of severe weather, so keep an eye out for gusty winds. Rainfall amounts look to be between 0. 25" and 0. 50", with some areas possibly seeing more. By early Sunday morning, the front will have passed through. Lingering showers will give way to clearing skies and lower humidity by the second half of the day.
Next week is looking a bit up and down. Monday will be great, with lows in the upper 50s and highs in the mid-80s. But things get a bit more complicated after that. Multiple fronts are expected to move through the area, causing changing conditions day to day. The second front looks to approach on Tuesday, bringing a slight increase in humidity and rain chances before another cooldown mid-week. Highs will dip down to the lower 80s as a result. There are even signs of a potential third cold front by Thursday.
Meanwhile, in the tropics, a tropical wave is moving westward in the central Atlantic. This system is associated with a large area of showers and thunderstorms, and some gradual development is possible over the next several days. Regardless of development, heavy rainfall and gusty winds are possible as the system moves across the Windward Islands late this weekend and enters the Caribbean Sea by the early to middle part of next week. In the North Atlantic, a non-tropical area of low pressure is developing south of Nova Scotia, Canada. This system is expected to drop southeastward and then turn northeastward by this weekend, with some subtropical or tropical development possible while the system moves over the Gulf Stream to the northeast of Bermuda. By early next week, the system will move further northeastward into colder waters, ending its chances for development.
