Wet Start, Wintry Mix Ahead in Metro Detroit
Mon Dec 09 2024
Get ready, Metro Detroit! After a mild Sunday, rain is set to move in overnight, making Monday's commute a wet one. The rain will start in southern communities like Adrian and Monroe, then head north to Detroit. By noon, though, most of the rain should clear out, leaving behind cloudy skies and temperatures around 50°F. That's a bit warmer than the average high for this time of year, which is 39°F.
As we move into Tuesday, things will cool down a bit. Temperatures will dip into the lower to mid 40s, and we might see some rain or snow showers late at night. Wednesday brings a higher chance of snow showers, with highs in the mid 30s and lows in the lower to mid 20s. Be careful if you're out and about on Wednesday night, as snow showers could make roads slippery.
Thursday is expected to be even colder and windier, with highs only reaching the mid 20s. Wind chills could feel as low as single digits, so bundle up! The good news is that temperatures will start to warm up again on Friday, and we should see highs above freezing next weekend.
