Florida, United StatesSun Sep 15 2024
The video released on Monday shows the altercation between Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill and six police officers escalating quickly. The incident occurred during a traffic stop before Sunday's game, and Hill was dragged out of his sports car and forced to the ground. The officers, who were responding to a report of a man with a darkly tinted window, demanded that Hill open the door and step out of the car. When he refused, they eventually opened the door and grabbed him by the arm and head.
The body camera footage shows that the officers cursed at Hill, but he did not resist their physical force or strike at them. However, Hill did say "I am getting out" as he was dragged out of the car, and he also attempted to phone his agent, Drew Rosenhaus, or the team's director of security, Drew Brooks, who soon showed up at the scene.
The officers then forced Hill to the ground and handcuffed him. Another officer put a knee in the middle of his back, and Hill yelled "I am getting arrested Drew. " The officers told Hill to sit on the curb, and he complained about the incident, saying "You crazy" to the officer who pulled him out of the car.
The altercation between Hill and the officers was intense, with the receiver being dragged out of the car, thrown to the ground, and forced to the ground. The incident has sparked outrage, with many questioning the level of force used by the officers.
