Who Might Hold Power After the Next Big Vote

Right now, people currently seem to think Democrats will keep control of the House. Expectations appear to be leaning that way. When it comes to the full picture of Congress, a lot of folks favor the idea of Democrats holding both the Senate and the House. But if you flip that and picture a Republican Senate with a Democratic House, the mood turns doubtful. A Democratic Senate paired with a Republican House also looks unlikely to most observers.

The Senate map gets more complicated. States like Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Michigan, Ohio, and Texas are all part of the conversation. People currently seem to think Republicans will not win all of these seats. Different combinations keep popping up, but the general feeling stays doubtful. Some seats might go one way, others might go another, leaving the overall direction divided. It is hard to tell which way the wind will blow.

Who will lead the Democratic ticket for president? Gavin Newsom does not look favored. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also seems doubtful. Pete Buttigieg faces strong headwinds, with expectations leaning against him. The race feels open, but these specific names are not gaining much traction right now. Other names could still enter the mix.

Across the ocean, the mood is just as mixed. In France, Marine Le Pen is leaning toward no for the presidency. Jordan Bardella and Éric Zemmour face overwhelming doubt. In Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu being the next prime minister leans toward no. Naftali Bennett faces overwhelming doubt as well. International leadership feels uncertain and split.
