Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown isn't bothered by critics who slammed him for reading a book on the sideline during a playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Brown, a three-time All-Pro, is known for bringing a book called Inner Excellence by Jim Murphy to every game. His teammates even call it "The Recipe. "
"It's not about pretending or putting on a show, " Brown said in a press conference. "I get peace from reading that book. It helps me refocus between drives, whether I score or drop a pass. "
Head coach Nick Sirianni backs Brown, saying, "Everyone has their way to reset mentally. Some pray, some meditate. AJ reads. It's what works for him and I support that. "
Brown and the Eagles aim to continue their playoff run against the Los Angeles Rams in the Divisional Round, taking place on Sunday at 3 p. m. ET.
