When everyone is watching and sharing opinions online, staying quiet can seem like agreeing with one side. Even the silence ofckets or sneaker purchases. Companies and fans are more divided than ever, so stars are learning that keeping quiet might not be an option.
Many top stars are proving that speaking out doesn't hurt their careers. Stars like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Oprah have backed political candidates and done just fine. Fans usually stick with their favorites, even if they don't agree on politics.
Even Donald Trump is paying close attention to celebrities' political stands. He loves those who support him and attacks those who don't. So, stars today are learning that using their platforms wisely can actually boost support among fans with similar views.
Sure, speaking out might alienate some fans, but it also gains new ones. Stars are realizing they have a responsibility to speak up in today's world. It's not easy, but it's where the world is heading.
