Why John O’Hurley Is Saying Goodbye to LA
Los Angeles, USAFri Nov 21 2025
John O’Hurley, the actor known for his role in "Seinfeld, " is considering leaving Los Angeles. He mentioned this on the "Brian Kilmeade Show" on Fox News Radio. O’Hurley said he doesn’t need to stay in LA anymore because much of his work is voice acting, which he can do remotely. He even flew to different states for five movies this year.
The actor also pointed out that California’s film industry is shrinking. Many projects are now filmed in places like Georgia, Tennessee, and New York. This trend is part of why he’s thinking about moving.
O’Hurley also talked about Hollywood’s changing culture. He said the Academy Awards now have many rules that make it hard for some people to get nominated. As a white man in his age group, he feels it’s tougher to work in Hollywood.
He’s not alone in feeling this way. Other celebrities like Mark Wahlberg, Sylvester Stallone, and Jessica Simpson have also left California. They often cite high taxes, crime, and political policies as reasons for their move.
Glen Powell, another actor, recently moved back to Texas. He said he needed a place where he could disconnect from the constant buzz of Hollywood. He felt LA was too connected to the industry, making it hard to truly unwind.
