Why Maternal Health in the U. S. is a Growing Concern

USAMon Oct 20 2025

In the U.S., many expectant mothers face serious health risks. Sadly, most of these issues could be avoided with better care.

The Problem

There are many reasons why this is happening. Some groups, like:

  • Racial minorities
  • LGBTQ+ individuals
  • People with disabilities

have a harder time getting the help they need. This is unfair and needs to change.

The System is Broken

  • There are not enough places for people to get care.
  • Big differences in how people are treated based on who they are.
  • This is called structural racism, and it's a major problem.

The Solution

To fix this, we need to:

  1. Make sure everyone has equal access to healthcare.
  2. Make care more available and affordable.
  3. Train healthcare workers to treat everyone fairly.

The Bigger Picture

We need to think about:

  • Where someone lives
  • Their income
  • Their background

All of these can affect their health. We need to address these issues to improve maternal health.

Call to Action

It's time to take action. We can't keep letting mothers suffer when we have the power to help.

questions

Could the government be using maternal health as a tool for population control?
How can the healthcare system be restructured to ensure equitable access to quality care for all childbearing persons?
Could the pharmaceutical industry be profiting from the high rates of maternal morbidity and mortality?
