Why People Are Diversifying With Crypto in 2025
USATue Nov 25 2025
In 2025, more people are putting their money into crypto for a different reason. Instead of just chasing big profits, they want to spread out their investments. This is called diversification.
Over half of the people surveyed said this is their main reason for investing in crypto. Last year, most people wanted to get in on the long-term growth of crypto. But now, only about half care about that.
This shift shows that crypto is becoming a regular part of investment plans. People see it as a way to balance their portfolios, not just a get-rich-quick scheme.
But diversification isn't the only reason. Almost half of the people see crypto, especially Bitcoin, as a safe bet. They worry about government debt, inflation, and political problems. They also don't trust regular money as much.
However, fewer people see crypto as a new type of asset. Only about 28% think of it that way.
The crypto market is also growing up. More regulated products, like derivatives and ETFs, are making people more confident. In the US, over 150 crypto ETF applications are waiting to be approved.
If these ETFs allowed staking, 70% of investors would put more money into them. Staking is when you earn rewards for helping secure a blockchain network. This is especially true for Solana and multi-asset ETPs.
Rich investors are leading the way. They often put 10-20% of their money into crypto. Almost all of them think crypto is important for long-term wealth and planning for the future.
But there are still problems. The biggest one is unclear rules. 40% of people say this is their main worry. Custody, security, and price swings are also concerns.
Even so, most people think rules have gotten better. 80% say there's been a lot of progress. And 83% think recent US policy changes have made crypto a better investment.
