Every year, the Olympics bring together some of the world's biggest names in sports and entertainment. From actors like Tom Cruise and Charlize Theron to legendary athletes such as Shaun White, Michael Phelps, and Serena Williams, everyone wants a piece of this global event. This year, Prince William had planned to join in on the fun, but something unexpected happened. In a recent meeting at Birtley Community Pool, Prince William met with two Olympic swimmers, Tom Dean and Adam Peaty. They were there to announce an exciting partnership between the leisure center and the foundation led by Prince William and his wife, Kate. During their chat, the prince revealed that he and his family love water sports. However, his attendance at the Olympics was not meant to be. Prince William admitted that he really wanted to go, but things changed when he read about Adam Peaty's Covid diagnosis. With his wife going through chemotherapy, the last thing Prince William wanted was to bring any illness home. He decided it was best for him to stay away and protect her health. It shows that even with exciting opportunities like the Olympics, family comes first for Prince William.
