Do you wear a smartwatch or use a health app? If so, you might be one of the many people using tech to track your health. But does all this tech really help us? Dr. Dave Rabin, a neuroscientist and psychiatrist, has a different take. He thinks we're missing the bigger picture. He says unprocessed trauma and stress are at the root of many health issues. While tech like smartwatches and health apps can give us insights, they might be distracting us from the real problems.
In 2025, we'll see more tech aimed at improving our health. But will it actually make a difference? Dr. Rabin thinks we need to go deeper. He believes that tech should be used to help us, not distract us. For example, apps that track how we use our phones might help spot early signs of dementia. But we shouldn't rely on tech alone. We also need to focus on things like getting enough sleep, eating well, and managing stress.
Nutrition is another big topic for 2025. The new dietary guidelines in the US will emphasize plant-based foods and limiting processed foods. The gut microbiome is also getting more attention. Scientists are finding links between gut health and conditions like cancer and heart disease. But will all this new tech and focus on nutrition really make us healthier? Only if we use it right.
