Freezing rain is expected in northern Minneapolis and Wisconsin on Thursday evening. It will reach Michigan on Friday morning. Later, it will move to western and central Pennsylvania.
Most of the freezing rain and ice will fall in central and western Pennsylvania. Snow flurries might start in New York City around noon on Thursday. But most of the snow will fall after 4 p. m.
Snow will continue through Thursday night in many areas. These include New York City, upstate New York, New Jersey, and more. But Boston won't get much snow. The heaviest snow will end by 4 a. m. on Sunday. All snow should stop by Saturday morning between 8 a. m. and 11 a. m.
New York City and nearby areas could get more than half a foot of snow. Some places might see up to 8 or 9 inches. Ice could build up to a quarter of an inch in central Pennsylvania. This could cause power outages and dangerous driving conditions.
Similar ice accumulation is possible in other areas. These include northeastern West Virginia, Michigan, and parts of Pennsylvania. Drivers should be very careful, especially on untreated roads. Washington, D. C. , and Baltimore might also see some ice on Friday and Friday night.
In the upper Midwest, ice could build up to 0. 2 inches. This includes parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. People in these areas should be prepared for slippery roads and other winter hazards.
