In Oregon, the snow accumulation is the slowest it's been since records started in 1981. This warmth could lead to more drought and wildfires if it continues. Climate scientists say limiting global warming is crucial to prevent more snow turning into rain. Meanwhile, in the Northeast, below-normal temperatures have brought lots of snow. Resorts like Killington in Vermont are seeing some of the best early-season conditions in years. Back out West, there's still hope for snow. A big storm could change everything quickly. For now, ski resorts and locals are crossing their fingers for a winter turnaround.
