Wisconsin is in for a snowy weekend, with the northern parts of the state getting the brunt of it. Expect 4 to 8 inches of snow up north, while central and southern areas will see less than 2 inches. This storm is moving in from the central Plains and will sweep through the Upper Midwest.
Temperatures are dropping, with the north seeing lows in the mid-teens and the south dipping to the low 20s. This means it's going to be cold, and the snow will make travel a bit tricky, especially on Saturday evening.
The snow is expected to start Friday night in the northern counties, with some areas near Green Bay and the Michigan border getting more due to lake-effect snow. Down south, the snow won't be as heavy, but it could still make roads slippery. There might even be a bit of ice in the far western counties, but it shouldn't cause too many problems.
Over in Michigan, the Upper Peninsula is also getting hit with heavy snow. Some places might even see a foot of snow before the storm weakens on Sunday morning.
The good news is that the storm won't stick around for too long. It should move out of Wisconsin by Sunday afternoon, heading east into Ontario.
As for the cold, it's going to get colder over the next few days. Up north, temperatures will drop to around 11–17°F. In central Wisconsin, expect lows around 18–19°F. The eastern part of the state will be a bit warmer, with lows in the low 20s. Down south, temperatures will hover around 20°F, with the lake areas staying a bit warmer due to Lake Michigan's influence.
