A Polish astronaut, Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski, has shared stunning timelapse videos of Earth and the Moon. He took these videos while on the International Space Station (ISS) for the Ignis mission. The videos show Earth's changing weather and the Moon moving across the sky. They were taken from the Cupola, a special part of the ISS with seven windows. The astronaut was on the ISS for 20 days as part of Axiom Mission 4 (Ax-4). This mission started on June 25, 2025, with a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft. The videos are just one part of the mission. The astronaut also did many science experiments during his time in space.
The Cupola gives a wide view of Earth and space. The videos show clouds moving, the atmosphere glowing, and the Moon rising. These videos were shared on the European Space Agency's (ESA) official platform. They show how advanced space photography has become and how beautiful Earth looks from space. The Ignis mission had a big science part. The astronaut did 13 experiments for Polish research groups and three for ESA. These experiments were about human health, materials, biotechnology, and new technology. The mission was supported by the Polish government, ESA, and other Polish groups. This mission shows Poland's growing interest in space science.
