World's Richest Man Tells Everyone Saving Money Is Useless

Elon Musk posted on X that putting money aside for later makes no sense. He claims super smart AI will create so much stuff that nobody will need savings. This came from a guy worth nearly a trillion dollars. His wealth jumped after SpaceX went public. He could burn a hundred million bucks every single day for twenty years and still have piles left.

Most ultra rich folks give lots to charity. Musk does not. He prefers funding political campaigns instead. He dropped around three hundred million on the last presidential race. His own foundation holds fifteen billion but gives very little away. Most donations go to groups connected to his companies. Last year it missed its legal giving target by four hundred twenty one million bucks. Musk once called charities a net negative for society.

He keeps promising an AI utopia is just years away. In a recent interview he said machines will beat humans at almost everything within five years. Then everyone can have whatever they dream up. He has said this before. On a podcast he told people not to bother saving for retirement because it won't matter. The timeline keeps shifting but the message stays the same.

Lately he vowed to give every American kid one share of SpaceX stock. This happened right after a rival AI company announced a big public benefit fund. Musk has a long history of making splashy promises that never happen. Whether this one comes true remains to be seen.
