Wyoming Braces for Heavy Snow and Strong Winds

Wyoming is in for a rough ride with a big winter storm coming. The weather service has issued a warning. It will last until early Monday. Heavy snow and strong winds are expected.
The weather service says snow will start falling in the western parts of the state this evening. It will get worse by midnight. The mountains will see the most snow. Places like Jackson and Star Valleys could get 1 to 2 inches tonight.
Winds will be a big problem too. Gusts of 50 to 60 mph are expected in places like South Pass and Red Canyon this afternoon. Overnight, winds could get even stronger. There's a good chance of gusts over 60 mph in the south side of Casper.
The Wind River Range is expected to get hit hard. More than three feet of snow could fall there. That's a lot of snow! On Saturday night alone, 10 inches could fall. The weather service says snow showers will start after 11 pm. It will be windy, with gusts as high as 43 mph. There's an 80% chance of snow, and 6 to 10 inches could accumulate.
Sunday will be even worse. Up to 29 inches of snow could fall. The weather service says snow showers will continue. It will be breezy, with winds up to 33 mph. The wind chill could feel as low as zero. There's a 90% chance of snow, and 9 to 13 inches could accumulate.
The bad weather isn't just in the mountains. Much of western and central Wyoming is expected to see hazardous conditions. People should be prepared for heavy snow and strong winds.
