Yummy Waffles Recalled: Listeria Concerns!

Hey there, waffle lovers! Guess what? A big recall just happened for some frozen waffles you might have bought from places like Walmart or Target. The company that makes them, called TreeHouse Foods, found out they might have some bacteria called listeria in them. How did they find out? Well, they were doing their usual checks at their factory. The U. S. Food and Drug Administration and Canada’s food safety folks know about this too. So, what’s the deal with this listeria thing? It can make you feel yucky with fever or diarrhea. Sometimes, it can be serious, especially for pregnant women, babies, older adults, and people whose immune systems are not super strong. Every year, around 1, 600 people in the U. S. get infected, and sadly, about 260 die.The waffles under recall come in different names. You might know them as Walmart’s Great Value, Target’s Good & Gather, or from stores like Food Lion, Kroger, and Schnucks. TreeHouse put up a list of all the products. The good news is, no one has reported getting sick from these waffles yet. What should you do if you have these waffles? Get rid of them or take them back to the store for a refund. It’s better to be safe than sorry, right?
