An armed confrontation took place on November 13, 2025, at the United States Embassy to Haiti complex in Tabarre, a northern suburb of the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince. The incident involved an exchange of gunfire between U.S. Marines and a group of armed assailants, that according to the State Department are strongly suspected to be local gang members affiliated with the powerful and volatile Viv Ansanm coalition.
