Casein
Family of proteins found in milk
Summary
Casein is a family of related phosphoproteins that are commonly found in mammalian milk, comprising about 80% of the proteins in cow's milk and between 20% and 60% of the proteins in human milk. Sheep and cow milk have a higher casein content than other types of milk with human milk having a particularly low casein content.

Deleted a statement that declared breast milk as superior to other forms of nutrition for infants, which is significantly more ideology-laden than it might seem (see political scientist Courtney Jung’s book “Lactivism: How Feminists and Fundamentalists, Hippies and Yuppies, and Physicians and Politicians Made Breastfeeding Big Business and Bad Policy” for more). A greater discussion of the nuances of this claim/its history doesn’t seem appropriate here, so I just removed that line altogether.
