reverting to West London from incorrect edit to North West London; the fact that it's "North West" of Charing Cross doesn't make it "North West" London any more than, say, Soho being North West of Charing Cross would make it North West! Maida Vale is the W9 postcode and historically culturally west London, including this Wikipedia page for many years.

Maida Vale is 3 miles northwest of Charing Cross and is therefore part of NW London despite the W postcode.
