Meteor Crater
Meteorite impact crater in northern Arizona
Summary
Meteor Crater, or Barringer Crater, is an impact crater about 37 mi (60 km) east of Flagstaff and 18 mi (29 km) west of Winslow in the desert of northern Arizona, United States. The site had several earlier names, and fragments of the meteorite are officially called the Canyon Diablo Meteorite, after the adjacent Canyon Diablo.

There was a Script warning on the page from a cite book template, "Category:CS1 maint: date and year", fixed by removing the redundant date= field as year= was already set

Source says nothing about "closest community to the crater in the late 19th century", nor has any other source that I have found. Instead, they say that the canyon to the west (not the community, which is nowhere near) was part of the strewnfield. This is confirmed in several different sources.
