also known as Escoda Shoal) is a strategically important feature in the Spratly Islands, situated approximately 75 nautical miles (around 140–150 km or 93 miles) west of Palawan, Philippines. It lies well within the 200-nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of the Philippines, while being about 630 nautical miles from China.
