Strategic authority

Summary

A strategic authority is an overarching legal category of devolved public authority in England introduced by the English Devolution and Community Empowerment Act 2026 that receive certain devolved functions from the central government. Included in this category are the Greater London Authority (GLA), combined authorities (CAs), and combined county authorities (CCAs).
