I did a survey on Talk showing that sources overwhelmingly refer to Platner explicitly as an oyster farmer and/or veteran when first describing him. I'm not seeing similar evidence that he is routinely described as a politician. That will probably change if he wins his election, but I see no reason for us to get ahead of the sources.
