/* History inside China */ Added intext attribution, as the authors are from a Chinese state-run univ, apparently a WP:COISOURCE in this context. We should either remove it or at least add intext attribution. Also removed "dangerous" which wasn't in the cited source.

  • Falun GongEdited 6/11/2026, 3:57:18 PM

Undid revision 1358701431 by JaredMcKenzie (talk) Removed undue misleading content in the lead. The Zhongnanhai protest was triggered by the arrests in Tianjin and previous harassments, not directly by that article authored by China's security czar's relative. Details explained in the History inside China section.

  • History of Tibet (1950–present)Edited 5/30/2026, 4:41:43 PM

Removed tag from 2011 calling for the lede section to be expanded to better summarize the article. I think the current version provides a good summary

/* Demography */ I added more details to how Freedom House arrived at their estimate, which was largely based on Chinese gov sources as explained in the report as well as media, academic, and FG sources. I think the extra detail resolves the issues with this section.

  • Falun GongEdited 5/10/2026, 7:00:03 PM

Edited section with more citations to secondary sources and clarity in the context. An overall improvement that doesn't rely solely on Freedom House and DOS.

  • Falun GongEdited 5/9/2026, 12:33:34 AM

US State Dept report is a reliable source. The removed quote in the lede is a verified secondary source, as it cites estimates from Chinese gov, FG, and Freedom House, all clearly attributed. Claiming Freedom House's estimate came from Minghui is WP:OR. Three secondary RS citing Freedom House report shouldn't be removed.

  • Falun GongEdited 3/15/2026, 4:19:46 PM

/* top */ Moved a sentence to near where it used to be before recent changes with slight modifications. FG didn't oppose to CCP before the persecution. The current position could mislead readers to think those are reasons of persecution. Also, all cited sources are about Shen Yun or Epoch Times, only mentioning FG's belief briefly or in passing. This context needs to be mentioned.

I reverted the recent series of edits by @JArthur1984. Some of the edits are probably fine, but most rely on a new book by Yanfei Sun. The author is at Zhejiang Univ, which is funded and controlled by Chinese government. Given the conflict between Chinese gov and FG, a researcher in China has an obvious conflict of interest, lack of academic freedom, and inherent unreliability, since she would not be allowed to report on FG independently. It isn't a reliable source per WP:COISOURCE
