- LiliumEdited 4/26/2026, 5:42:57 AM
/* Taxonomy */ Table entry for Lilium szovitsianum linked to a page for a different species when no corresponding redirect exists.
- Dahlia pinnataEdited 4/19/2026, 3:26:13 AM
/* Ecology */ Red spider mites are not insects, and slugs and snails aren't even arthropods.
- CentaureaEdited 4/16/2026, 8:53:53 AM
/* Systematics and taxonomy */ Centaurea centaurium is no longer the type species, and is no longer in this genus.
- Taxonomic rankEdited 4/10/2026, 7:57:53 AM
/* Ranks in botany */ Broke out Latin into their own column. Removed some header cells, as it resulted in cells with centered text alternating with cells left-aligned, which looked bad.
- BlueberryEdited 4/7/2026, 3:32:36 AM
The subject "the species" is plural from context, thus the verb "is" should be "are"
- Sprenger's asparagus fernEdited 4/7/2026, 2:34:10 AM
Nominated for RfD: see [[Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion]].
- AsteridsEdited 4/6/2026, 10:04:56 PM
Removed circular redirect links to euasterids, lamiids, and campanulids.
- TexturEdited 4/6/2026, 3:15:27 AM
RfD of redirect. The Blackletter article was recently rewritten, eliminating the Textura section.
- LiverwortEdited 4/5/2026, 10:52:13 PM
Her sur name is Crandall-Stotler, not Candall-Stotler, and her IPNI standard abbreviation is Crand.-Stotl., not Stotl.-Crand.
- CassiopeEdited 4/4/2026, 5:41:57 AM
/* Species */ POWO lists Cassiope argyrotricha as a natural species, not a hybrid. Also, POWO apparently does not count hybrids when reporting the number of species in a genus.
- SolanumEdited 4/2/2026, 7:54:35 PM
/* Section Oliganthes */ cleistogamum is now a synonym for ellipticum
- Allium giganteumEdited 4/1/2026, 5:01:53 AM
Corrected taxonomy in first section: Alliaceae was merged into Amaryllidaceae, becaming the subfamily Allioideae
- MicrosatelliteEdited 4/1/2026, 12:13:49 AM
The first sentence of the third section was a repeat of the first sentence of the article. The first sentence was modified to be more general, allowing the third section to be more specific and avoid repetition. A citation was also moved.
- MicrosatelliteEdited 3/31/2026, 11:43:40 PM
Deleted a sentence that was a word-for-word repeat of a sentence in the intro.
- C-valueEdited 3/31/2026, 11:25:04 PM
/* Variation among species */ Second paragraph repeated a sentence from the first paragraph, nearly word for word. Removed and rearranged remaining text.
- Adonis (plant)Edited 3/31/2026, 4:36:09 AM
"Adonis vernalia" and "Adonis macrocarpa" are probably spelling errors. IPNI has no records for either, and searching returns hits to poorly OCR'd historical documents and stock photo websites.
- Mandragora (genus)Edited 3/28/2026, 6:09:37 PM
/* Uses */ An undefined citation is equivalent to no citation.
- Yam (vegetable)Edited 3/27/2026, 6:39:58 PM
/* D. rotundata and D. cayennensis */ Rephrased this paragraph to better reflect the change in nomenclature.
- DioscorealesEdited 3/27/2026, 5:40:43 PM
Type species are usually only specified for taxa of genus rank or below. Ranks higher than genus instead have a type genus.
- SempervivoideaeEdited 3/21/2026, 7:19:14 PM
A genus cannot be divided amongst multiple tribes and remain a singular genus. If a genus is divided amongst multiple tribes, the divisions cannot retain the same singular name.
- CichorioideaeEdited 3/15/2026, 11:34:53 PM
- AnethumEdited 3/15/2026, 5:44:29 AM
Updated, now only two species. A. foeniculum became Foeniculum vulgare, A. involucratum became Galagania involucrata, and I don't know what happened to A. patulum
- CichorioideaeEdited 3/15/2026, 12:49:57 AM
In need of update, this subfamily has been reduced dramatically.
- LythraceaeEdited 3/12/2026, 6:05:29 AM
/* Taxonomy */ Tightened up the formatting, Lythroideae item was styled conspicuously different from the rest. No point in linking the subfamily names, as they redirect to the genera which have links directly below. Added some em dashes. Incertae sedis is not a subfamily
- List of Betula speciesEdited 3/12/2026, 1:45:24 AM
/* Subgenus Betulenta - Wintergreen oil birches */ Duplicate Betula insignis
- Citrus × sinensisEdited 3/8/2026, 2:56:16 AM
It makes no sense to say that Citrus x sinensis is both the binomial name and a synonym.
- Citrus × sinensisEdited 3/8/2026, 2:53:17 AM
The GRIN link does not support this binomial name. Instead it says Citrus x sinensis is a synonym for Citrus x aurantium var. sinensis.
- ChamaenerionEdited 3/7/2026, 9:18:19 AM
Corrected Taxonbar Q-value. Chamerion (Q2507911) != Chamaenerion (Q11109375)
- Centaurea cyanusEdited 3/6/2026, 7:52:33 PM
Binomial nomenclature is translinqual, and is neither Latin (even though it's based on Latin) nor Greek. It is not subject to translation. Rarely a taxon may have a scientific name which equals a Latin (or faux-Latin) phrase with the same meaning as one of its vernacular names, but this is not true in general.
- RubiaceaeEdited 2/28/2026, 5:19:30 AM
Systematics section reverted to version from 8 May 2024. The two-subfamily classification added by the 23 May 2024 update is, as presented, nonsensical. Subfamily Cinchonoideae is just deleted without its taxa being reallocated to the other two subfamilies or any other group.
- AnemoneEdited 2/26/2026, 8:45:51 PM
/* Taxonomy */ Several undefined citations replaced with 'Citation needed'. Citation for "All of these species but ''E. rupicola'' are called fall-blooming anemones" failed verification: ''E. japonica'' and ''E. rivularis'' are also excluded..
- StrelitziaceaeEdited 2/24/2026, 10:03:31 PM
Needs update. APG II is over twenty years old and has been superseded twice.
