In crime scene investigations, blood is a big deal. It can solve murders, rapes, and other serious crimes. But how do experts know if the blood is human? Two methods were put to the test in Pakistan.

The first method uses a special tool called Anti-Human Hemoglobin (Ah-HB). It's cheaper but not as sensitive as the second method, which uses Seratec HemDirect (S_HD) strips. The S_HD strips can detect tiny amounts of blood, even when it's very diluted. But they cost more.

The Ah-HB tool was tested for accuracy and reliability. It did well in identifying human blood and didn't mix it up with animal blood. But it struggled with very diluted blood samples. The S_HD strips, on the other hand, were better at detecting diluted blood but cost more per test.

So, what's the best choice? It depends on the situation. If money is tight, Ah-HB is a good option. But if the case requires detecting very small amounts of blood, S_HD might be better. Both methods are reliable, but they have different strengths and weaknesses.

In the end, it's all about making smart choices. Forensic labs need to balance cost and accuracy to solve crimes effectively.
