Summer 2025 is shaping up to be a fantastic time for book lovers. There are plenty of new releases to look forward to.  The list includes a mix of genres, from thrillers and mysteries to romance and science fiction.  Some of these books are from well-known authors, while others are debuts from exciting new voices.  The books cover a wide range of topics and settings, from the streets of New York City to the beaches of Florida, from the far-off kingdom to the small town of North Falls.  Some of these books are set in the present day, while others take place in the past or even the future.  Some of these books are based on true events, while others are purely fictional.  Some of these books are light and fluffy, while others are dark and twisted.  But all of them are sure to keep readers engaged and entertained.

        One of the most anticipated releases of the summer is “The Bachelorette Party” by Camilla Sten.  The story follows four childhood friends who meet up every year on a remote Swedish island for a night of fun.  But one year, they mysteriously disappear, never to be seen or heard from again.  A decade later, a struggling true-crime podcaster is determined to find out what happened to the women.         For fans of mystery, there is “Nightshade” by Michael Connelly.  The story follows a Los Angeles police detective who is pushed out of his job due to office politics.  He ends up on sleepy Catalina Island investigating petty crimes and drunken disputes.  But when the body of a Jane Doe is found in the harbor, and there are reports of illegal poaching, the peaceful island is fraught with danger and secrets.  The book is a gripping tale of suspense and intrigue that is sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats.

        For fans of fantasy, there is “The Magician of Tiger Castle” by Louis Sachar.
