Jussie Smollett has a lot to celebrate. He is now engaged to his partner, Jabari Redd.  The actor shared this joyful news on Instagram.  The pictures show Smollett down on one knee, proposing to Redd on a city street.  Redd's happiness is clear as he laughs and hugs his fiancé.  The final photo reveals the ring Smollett chose for Redd.  It might not be the biggest diamond, but it shows Smollett's good taste.

Smollett turned 43 the day after the proposal.  He wrote on Instagram, "I’ll be spending my birthday with my Fiancé… He said YES. "  This news comes after a tough time for Smollett.  He had to pay $50, 000 to a charity as part of a settlement with Chicago.  This was due to a hate crime hoax investigation.  Smollett plans to support the Building Better Futures Center for the Arts in Chicago with this money.

Jabari Redd is also an actor.  They both starred in the 2023 movie "The Lost Holiday".  It is possible that their relationship started on the set of this movie.  Many celebrities congratulated the couple on Instagram.  Vivica A. Fox, Taraji P. Henson, and Halle Berry were among them.  It is unclear exactly when Smollett and Redd started dating.  However, their engagement is a happy moment for them and their fans.

Smollett seems to be moving forward with his life.  He is putting his past behind him and focusing on his future with Redd.  This engagement is a new chapter in his life.
