The numbers might have been smaller this time around, but that does not mean the passion is any less. The protests took place in major cities like Washington and Chicago.  Even though the crowds were not as big as the last time, there were still thousands of people marching.  This shows that the movement is still strong.  In fact, there were over 700 events planned across the country, from Florida to California.  In New York, the marchers filled up 15 blocks on Madison Avenue.  This is a big deal because it shows that people are willing to take time out of their day to stand up for what they believe in.

People are protesting because they feel that the president is overstepping his boundaries.  They are concerned about civil liberties and the rule of law.  They also have issues with immigration policies, job cuts, the economy, and other areas.  These are serious concerns that people are not afraid to voice.  They want their voices to be heard and they want change.

The protests are a sign of sustained resistance.  People are not just going to sit back and accept what is happening.  They are taking action and standing up for what they believe in.  This is important because it shows that democracy is alive and well.  People have the right to protest and they are exercising that right.  It is a powerful message that should not be ignored.
