Eva Mendes, the actress who captured our hearts with her stunning performances in films like 2 Fast 2 Furious and The Other Guys, seems to have stepped out of the limelight in recent years. But, has she ruled out a possible return to acting? In a recent interview, Mendes hinted that the door is still open, but only for the right roles. 

When asked about her potential comeback, Mendes showed a smile, and her answer was laced with a mix of uncertainty and curiosity. "If there are interesting roles, I don't know," she said. "I left at a time when I felt like I had achieved everything I wanted to achieve... working with Ryan Gosling, my now-husband, was a high point in my career." It was as if she had reached the pinnacle of success and decided to take a well-deserved break.

Mendes' decision to step away from acting was not an easy one. She shared with the Today show that she felt a sense of responsibility as a mother, wanting to be present for her two young daughters, Esmeralda and Amada. "It was like a no-brainer," she explained. "I'm so lucky, and I was like, 'If I could have this time with my children – and I still work, I just didn't act, because acting takes you on location. It takes you away.' It was almost just like a non-verbal agreement that it was like, 'OK, he's [Gosling] going to work and I'm going to work. I'm just going to work here.'"

Despite her temporary hiatus from acting, Mendes has been keeping busy with other projects. Her debut children's book, Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries, is a testament to her creativity and dedication to her craft.

It's no secret that Gosling and Mendes, both highly respected in their respective fields, have been private about their relationship. However, their subtle displays of affection on social media have left fans feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Like the time Mendes celebrated Gosling's impressive "I'm Just Ken" Oscars performance with a heartfelt Instagram post.

Only time will tell if Eva Mendes will return to the big screen. But, for now, it's safe to say that she has our hearts – and our admiration – as one of Hollywood's most talented and dedicated actresses.
