The Cannes Film Festival of 2025 was the stage for a candid conversation about motherhood.  The star of the upcoming thriller "Die, My Love" shared her personal experiences with motherhood.  The film features Lawrence as Grace, a mother grappling with psychosis following postpartum depression.  She stars alongside Robert Pattinson, who plays her husband, Jackson.

The film's director, Lynne Ramsay, chose to set the story in Montana, a place far from the comforts of community and familiar faces.  This isolation mirrors the feelings of extreme anxiety and depression, which can make one feel like an outsider, even among loved ones.  Lawrence, who has two children with her husband, Cooke Maroney, opened up about the challenges of motherhood. Lawrence was five months pregnant with her second child while filming "Die, My Love. "  She believes that this experience helped her connect deeply with her character. It received a nine-minute standing ovation at its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival.  The film's success at Cannes highlights the powerful performances and the raw, emotional storytelling that resonated with the audience.

Lawrence also shared a lighter moment from the filming process.  She revealed that the most awkward day on set was when they had to film a sex scene.  The director, Lynne Ramsay, had shown them a scene from another film to prepare them for the intensity of the scene.  Lawrence and Pattinson had to film the scene naked, which added to the challenge.
