The Swedish legal system is taking a stand against terrorism. A man from Sweden is now facing serious charges. He is accused of playing a role in a brutal act committed by ISIS. The victim was a Jordanian pilot. This pilot was burned alive in Syria back in 2015. The man charged is Osama Krayem. He is already serving time for his part in the 2015 Paris attacks and the 2016 Brussels attacks. These attacks left many people dead.

    Krayem is from the city of Malmo. He traveled to Syria in 2014 to join ISIS. He is now facing new charges. Swedish prosecutors say he was involved in the killing of Lt. Moaz al-Kasasbeh. The pilot was captured after his plane crashed near Raqqa. He was part of a mission against ISIS. Jordan was trying to free him through a prisoner swap. But ISIS released a video showing the pilot being burned alive. This video shocked the world.

    The pilot's brother spoke out about the charges. He said it was hard for his parents to hear about this again. But he was glad that Sweden was seeking justice. The Swedish Prosecution Authority announced plans to charge Krayem. They also plan to charge other suspected ISIS members. The offenses happened between December 2014 and February 2015. Prosecutors say Krayem and others forced the pilot into a metal cage. One of them set the cage on fire. The pilot died from the fire.

    Krayem was sentenced to 30 years in prison. This was for his role in the Paris attacks and planning an attack on Amsterdam airport.
