These days, heartfelt comedies about real people, like "Affectionate Goodness", are rare gems. Writer-director Hallie Meyers-Shyer brings us one such gem, proving that these movies can still touch hearts and make us laugh. "Goodrich" is a story about a man, Andy, played brilliantly by Michael Keaton, who suddenly becomes a single dad to his twin kids.

        Andy is a struggling art gallery owner, married to Naomi, who checks into rehab, leaving Andy with the kids. He doesn't know how to handle this new responsibility, so he turns to his grown daughter, Grace, for help. Grace is pregnant and trying to balance her own family with her dad's sudden needs.

        The movie shows the ups and downs of Andy learning to be a dad again. There are funny moments, like when he tries to bond with his kids by showing them "Casablanca", and touching ones, like when Grace's water breaks during a tense doctor's appointment. The chemistry between Keaton and Mila Kunis, who plays Grace, is what makes the movie shine.
