The Indiana Pacers' championship aspirations took a significant hit during Game 7 of the NBA Finals.  Star player Tyrese Haliburton left the game in the first quarter due to a right leg injury. "  Haliburton's injury occurred after he received a pass near the top of the key and began dribbling.  He suddenly collapsed to the floor, losing control of the ball.  He repeatedly slammed the court in pain before a timeout was called.  Teammates assisted him off the floor, ensuring he didn't put any weight on his injured leg.

        Haliburton had been having a strong game before the injury.  He scored nine points in just seven minutes, making 3 out of 4 three-point shots.  Throughout the playoffs, Haliburton had been a key player for the Pacers.  He averaged 17. 7 points, 9 assists, and 5. 6 rebounds per game in the 22 playoff games leading up to the Finals.  His performance had been crucial in multiple comeback victories throughout the postseason.

        The injury was not unexpected, as Haliburton had been playing through a right calf strain for the past two games.  He had been seen limping earlier in the series and appeared to aggravate the injury in Game 5.  Despite the pain, Haliburton was determined to play.  He had stated that as long as he could walk, he would be on the court.  His dedication to the team and the championship was evident in his words.  He wanted to be out there competing with his teammates, describing them as brothers he was willing to go to war with.  He had even mentioned that he would feel guilty if he didn't give it his all.

        Haliburton's injury is a significant blow to the Pacers' chances in the Finals.  His leadership and performance had been instrumental in their postseason success.  The team will need to find a way to cope with his absence and continue their fight for the championship.
