She described it as kind and loving, despite the public’s perception of Jackson. The suddenness of Lisa Marie’s death was a shock, but Riley had been worried about her mother’s health beforehand. She described her mother as seeming distant and resigned in her final days.

    Keough also discussed her mother’s struggle with opioid addiction after the birth of her twin daughters in 2008. She didn’t think her mother was using drugs again before her death, but rather seemed tired. Riley had felt like her time with her mother was borrowed, especially after the death of her brother Benjamin in 2020. Benjamin was Lisa Marie’s only son, and his death had a profound impact on her.

    Riley talked about her complicated feelings toward her grandfather, Elvis. She had felt anger toward him for causing her mother so much grief after his death. This has made her relationship with Graceland complex. She doesn’t like to visit but feels close to her family when she’s in the meditation garden, where Elvis, her brother, and her mother are buried.

    Riley plans to keep Graceland a home, as she believes her mother would have wanted. It was their family home, and she wants to honor that legacy.
