Tammy Slaton, beloved star of the reality show “1000-Lb. Sisters, ” surprised fans with her latest weight loss update. In a recent clip shared on TLC's Instagram, she stepped on the scale to reveal she now weighs 281. 2 pounds. For Tammy, this is a big deal. She reflected that the last time she weighed this much was when she was in elementary school. In fact, she now weighs less than her older brother, Chris Combs, who tips the scale at 284 pounds.

This isn’t just any small victory for Tammy. Back in 2020, she was around 725 pounds when she started her weight loss journey. With determination and medical guidance, she quickly dropped 200 pounds to become eligible for bariatric surgery. After the operation in 2022, Tammy continued to shed the pounds, losing around 300 pounds in the following year and reaching a total of 440 pounds lost by April 2024.

Not only has Tammy’s weight loss journey been impressive physically, but it has also had significant health benefits. She’s ditched her walker and oxygen support tank, which she depended on for 15 years. As she told People in June 2023, “I was able to make my lungs strong. ” Now, she only needs her oxygen machine at night.

Tammy’s dedication is inspiring, but her journey isn’t over yet. In a recent clip posted on TLC’s Instagram, a doctor advised her to keep losing weight to become eligible for skin removal surgery. Despite the wait, Tammy remains positive and continues to share her progress on social media.
